Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Salt Lake ReStore! Time is the most precious thing you can donate, so we create a fun and friendly atmosphere you will love to be a part of.  We offer single-day and repeat volunteer experiences. Volunteering at the ReStore allows you to build community with other volunteers, the staff, and our regular customers.

If you don’t have retail experience, no worries! We will teach you what you need to know. You can do numerous jobs at the ReStore, and you can shop while you’re at it!

  • Stock and organize shelves
  • Sort donated items
  • Help people unload and load
  • Dust and clean

We welcome volunteers of all ability levels and ensure you have a meaningful experience.

Youth Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering at the Salt Lake ReStore introduces teens to the retail and building materials industries, both of which offer a variety of career paths, including entrepreneurship.  We find that youth groups, churches, schools, Scouts, and sports teams like to organize youth group days of service, and we are happy to help.

The minimum age is 14, and a parent/legal guardian must be present. We offer a flexible 3-hour shift that works with busy family schedules.  For questions, please contact Kathryn at 801-263-0136 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Community Service Hours

If you have to do community service hours, we can help!  The Salt Lake ReStore is a great place to make an impact as you complete your service hours.

Book Lending Library

The Salt Lake ReStore has a free book library, and we are always looking for book donations and volunteers to organize the books.  If you’re a book lover, let us know!
